There are two major categories of New India Assurance Two-wheeler insurance policy coverage – Liability only policy and package policy. The following risks are covered under each of these two categories.

Package Policy

This type of coverage is for the insured vehicles’ damage due to the following risks:

The claim process varies from one type of loss to another. The process applicable for theft of insured vehicle is not same as the liability claim process. All types of claim procedures are mentioned below;

First and foremost thing that policyholders must do is lodge an F.I.R. Secondly; policyholders have to intimate insurer’s office where policy was issued and submit a FIR copy. Policyholders should also put forward the final police report. Consequently, insurer will appoint a surveyor and an investigator for loss assessment once the claim gets approved policyholders have to surrender the vehicle key and transfer the registration certificate in insurer’s name. Finally, policyholders have to submit a subrogation and indemnity letter on stamp paper which is duly notarized.

First of all policyholders need to inform the insurer about the mishap for which liability claim has been made. They must also send the court summon to the insurer upon receiving. Documents like registration certificate copies, duly filled claim forms and copies of FIR and driving license and the has to be submitted.

Policyholders first need to have the insurer informed and get a claim form. The form needs to be filled duly and submitted alongside repairs estimate, driving license and registration certificate copy. After submitting all documents the damaged vehicle will be surveyed by the surveyor appointed by the insurer. The survey might take place on spot of the accident in case of major damage. Policyholders then have to submit cash bills which are signed duly. Finally, once the claim is approved, damaged parts need to be deposited to the insurer.
